Description

The C022WS is a quartz micro volume cuvette with 2mm path length and two-way light optical configuration — two opposite vertical faces are polished to optical grade, forming the standard transmission geometry for UV-Vis absorbance measurements. With a 500ul internal volume (8 × 2 × 41 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — precision-glued quartz construction, an industry-proven assembly method. Showcases a compact micro-volume design with 2mm x 8mm x 41mm chamber dimensions, featuring dual polished optical windows and a clearly visible narrow sample channel within the 12.5mm x 12.5mm footprint.

Why Two-Way Light?

Two-way light cuvettes have two opposite vertical faces polished to optical grade, forming the standard transmission geometry for UV-Vis absorbance measurements. The remaining two faces are frosted to minimize stray-light interference, providing clean baseline performance for quantitative spectrophotometry.

Why Open Top?

This cuvette features an open-top design without a cap or cover, providing unrestricted access to the sample chamber for easy filling, mixing, and cleaning. The open design is ideal for workflows requiring frequent sample changes, titration experiments, or when using dip probes and fiber-optic accessories that need direct access to the liquid surface.

Why Standard 80?

Standard 80 uses precision-glued quartz construction — an industry-proven assembly method delivering >80% UV transmittance from 200–2500 nm. The optical adhesive bond is optimized for aqueous (water-based) solutions, making this fabrication ideal for routine spectrophotometry, QC testing, and educational labs where the sample matrix is known and gentle. Standard 80 offers a cost-effective entry point with reliable, repeatable results under normal operating conditions.

Usage Tips

  • Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
  • Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
  • Suitable for aqueous (water-based) solutions only. Do not use with organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases.
  • Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
  • For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, and run a blank before sample measurements.
