Using this cell

Fill the cell from the top and orient the two optical faces in the instrument beam path. For routine absorbance measurements, make sure the liquid covers the beam area and remove bubbles or residue before reading.

The 500 µL value is the nominal cell volume, not a stated minimum working volume. If your method depends on very low fill volumes or a precise beam height, check that condition in your own setup before routine use.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces for dust, residue or fingerprints.
Rinse the chamber with a suitable liquid for your method.
Place the cell in the correct transmission orientation and run a blank before loading samples.

Fit and optical alignment

The body dimensions are 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm, which helps when you are checking holder clearance and insertion space. The internal sample region is narrower, at 2 × 8 × 41 mm, so the outside fit and the inside liquid geometry should be considered separately.

Z Height is not specified for this item. If your instrument, holder or accessory requires a defined beam-center height, confirm that fit before ordering rather than relying on overall body height alone.

Solvents and cleaning

Standard 80 is the MQ fabrication term for adhesive-bonded quartz cells that are typically chosen for routine water-based samples and buffers at room temperature. For this cell, that makes it a practical choice for ordinary aqueous UV/Vis work with direct top filling and rinsing.

Avoid organic sample solvents and organic cleaning agents with this adhesive-bonded construction. Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning, and wipe the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
