C016WS combines a 1 mm optical path with a 5 mm secondary path in one JGS1 quartz rectangular sample cell for fluorescence work. Its Six-Way Light geometry and open-through body suit setups that need optical access from multiple directions around a compact 130 µL nominal sample region, while still keeping the body small enough for tightly arranged fixtures.

The open-at-both-ends format is useful when the sample-retention arrangement is part of your own fixture or assembly, rather than built into the cell itself.

Using this cell

Use the path and orientation that match your method, and keep that orientation consistent between blank and sample measurements. Fill the sample region so the beam passes fully through liquid, and clear bubbles from the optical faces before measurement.

Because the body is open at both ends, this cell is best used where your fixture, holder or added parts already define how the sample is retained. The 130 µL figure is a nominal cell volume, not a minimum working fill for every instrument geometry.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and edges for chips, residue or handling marks.
Test the intended orientation in your holder before preparing samples.
Run a blank with your measurement medium and confirm that the beam passes fully through the filled sample region.
Verify that any added retention or closure arrangement does not block the optical faces you need to use.

Fit and optical alignment

The stated 26 × 21 × 10 mm dimensions describe the cell body only. If your installation adds closures, holders or retention parts, allow extra space for the final assembled envelope rather than relying on body dimensions alone.

Z Height is not specified for this item. If your fluorimeter or holder depends on a defined beam-center height, check that from your own fixture geometry before purchase.

Solvents and cleaning

Standard 80 is an adhesive-bonded quartz construction used for routine water-based samples and buffers at room temperature. Avoid organic sample solvents and organic cleaning agents with this construction. If your method involves organic solvents, choose a construction intended for that chemistry.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning, and rinse promptly after use.
