C054WS1 is a JGS1 quartz rectangular sample cell for UV/Vis work over 200–2500 nm with a 5 mm optical path and Four-Way Light geometry. The tube-neck opening keeps filling access above the body, while the 1.75 mL nominal capacity and side optical access make it useful for methods that need a compact rectangular cell rather than a wider open-top format. This option is well suited when clearance around the body and neck both matter in the holder.

Using this cell

Fill through the neck and make sure the liquid level covers the beam during measurement. Remove bubbles before reading, especially if they collect near the optical faces or around the neck-to-body transition, and use the same orientation for blanks and samples when your method depends on fixed beam direction.

The neck is a filling opening, not evidence of a sealed flow path or supplied closure. If your process depends on a stopper, connected tubing, pressure handling or controlled coverage above the sample, please review that before ordering.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces and neck opening under good light for chips, dust or handling marks.
Rinse with a suitable liquid for your method.
Confirm that the cell seats securely and that the neck clears surrounding hardware.
Run a blank in the same orientation you will use for samples.

Fit and optical alignment

The body base is 12.5 × 7.5 mm with a 45 mm body height. The neck is specified at 8 mm outer diameter and 6 mm inner diameter, and the total bare height of this necked form is 95 mm. These are the practical dimensions to check where the holder, clamp or compartment hardware approaches the cell.

Z Height is not listed for this option, so instrument fit should not be assumed from path length alone. If your beam position is fixed, please check beam height and available clearance before ordering.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Molded 83 construction. In MQ selection terms, this construction is commonly chosen for organic-solvent methods and applications involving temperature-controlled work, but suitability still depends on the complete sample and cleaning conditions you plan to use.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning. Clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue, and check suitability before using aggressive chemicals or extended exposure conditions.
