JGS1 quartz micro cuvette for UV/Vis spectroscopy with a 10 mm optical path, black-wall Two-Way Light geometry and 1.05 mL nominal capacity. This option uses a 3 mm sample-region channel in a compact 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm uncapped body. Sold as a pack of 2 cuvettes, with closure included.
Description
C102CS85 is a JGS1 quartz micro cuvette set for UV/Vis spectroscopy when you need a 10 mm path length in a compact black-wall format. Each cuvette combines a 3 mm sample-region channel with a 1.05 mL nominal capacity, giving you a defined transmission path in a smaller body that is practical for repeat runs, blanks or parallel preparation. It is sold as a pack of 2 cuvettes, with closure included.

Choose this option
Choose C102CS85 when your method uses a 10 mm UV/Vis path length and you want the same micro cuvette format supplied as two cuvettes in one purchase. The Two-Way Light layout keeps the optical access focused on the main transmission direction, while the black-wall body and 3 mm sample-region channel suit methods that need a defined measurement region in a compact cell. The 1.05 mL nominal capacity is a useful planning value for filling and sample preparation across repeat measurements.
What makes this option different
- 10 mm optical path for UV/Vis methods built around this transmission length.
- Black-wall micro cuvette format with Two-Way Light access through the main optical faces.
- 3 mm sample-region channel that defines the measurement region within the cell.
- 1.05 mL nominal capacity for planning sample preparation and filling.
- JGS1 quartz specified for UV/Vis use from 200 to 2500 nm.
- Compact uncapped body size of 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm for holder-clearance checks.
- Sold as a pack of 2 cuvettes.
Using this cell
Fill each cuvette so the illuminated sample region is fully covered, and avoid bubbles in the channel during measurement. The 1.05 mL value is a nominal capacity, not a minimum working volume, so the correct operating fill depends on your beam position and the way your holder presents the cell to the light path.
For blank and sample work, keep the seating direction consistent from run to run and handle the optical faces carefully. If you use the included closure during handling or measurement, check that it clears the holder and any instrument lid before starting a measurement series.
First-use check
- Inspect both cuvettes for dust, marks or residue on the optical faces.
- Test fit each empty cuvette in the holder and confirm stable seating.
- Run a blank and confirm that your working fill covers the beam path without bubbles.
Fit and optical alignment
The external dimensions apply to the uncapped cell body: 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm. These dimensions are useful for checking basic fit in the holder and instrument compartment, but they do not establish the installed height once a closure is fitted.
Z Height is not established for this option. If your instrument uses a fixed beam height or has limited vertical adjustment, verify that the beam aligns with the illuminated region of this micro cuvette format before ordering.
Solvents and cleaning
This cuvette uses Standard 80 adhesive-bonded quartz construction. For this type of assembled cell, it is best suited to routine room-temperature aqueous samples and buffer-based UV/Vis work rather than organic samples or organic cleaning solvents.
The exact chemical limits for this assembled cell are not established here, so if your method involves aggressive solvents, mixed chemistries, long contact times or specialised cleaners, check the full wetted assembly before use. Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning, and rinse promptly after use.
Included with this option
Pack of 2 micro cuvettes (C102CS85). Closure included.
Availability and ordering
Order this specification directly, or contact us to check current availability and dispatch timing. If temporarily unavailable, additional preparation or production time may be needed. For a required delivery date, contact us before checkout; preparation or production is separate from carrier transit and customs clearance.
Discuss a custom version
We coordinate custom JGS1 quartz production for requirements involving dimensions, optical path length, sample volume, optical windows or Z Height, closures and fabrication details. Send a dimensioned drawing or labelled sketch together with your instrument or holder information, critical dimensions, application wavelength range, sample chemistry and target quantity. Prototype batches typically involve 2–4 cells; final feasibility, price and production time are confirmed in the project quotation. Discuss your requirements and mention part number C102CS85.
