Using this cell

Fill the cell so the measurement zone is fully covered during use. The 1.05 mL figure is the nominal cell capacity for this option, not a minimum working volume, so your actual fill level should be checked against your beam position and measurement practice.

For routine measurements, keep the same orientation in the holder for blanks and samples. Before reading, check that the optical faces are clean and that no bubbles, droplets or dried residue sit in the light path.

First-use check

Inspect the cell on arrival, rinse it with a suitable liquid for your method, and confirm that it sits squarely in the holder. Then make a quick trial fill to verify that your normal working level covers the intended light path without trapped air.

Fit and optical alignment

The body dimensions given for this option are 12.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm for the uncapped cell body. Use those dimensions for holder fit and surrounding clearance, especially if your instrument has limited space above the cell or around the cell opening.

Solvents and cleaning

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning, and wipe the optical faces gently with non-abrasive laboratory tissue or other suitable lint-free material.
