Using this cell

Install the cell as part of a suitable liquid circuit and support the assembly so the fixed quartz tubes are not carrying unnecessary bending stress. Fill the cell gradually and watch the illuminated region as liquid enters, so bubbles or droplets do not remain in the measurement zone.

The stated 3.5 mL is the nominal volume of the cell itself. It does not describe the extra liquid held in attached tubing, connectors or any upstream and downstream components.

First-use check

Inspect the quartz body and both tube ends for chips, cracks or handling damage.
Test the physical fit in the holder before connecting the full liquid path.
Fill slowly with a suitable clean liquid and confirm that the optical region is free of bubbles and exterior residue.
Run your blank after the flow path is fully filled and stable.

Fit and optical alignment

The quoted 38 × 12.5 × 12.5 mm dimensions apply to the optical body. The full installed length is greater because the fixed tubes project from both ends, so check clearance for tubing approach, bend radius and any holder features near the connection axis.

Four-Way Light describes the supported optical access category around the cell body. Z Height is not stated for this model, so body size alone should not be used as a beam-height substitute when holder position is critical.

Solvents and cleaning

This cell uses Molded 83 fabrication. It is commonly chosen for methods that may involve organic solvents or temperature-controlled use, but the suitable routine still depends on the complete wetted assembly, including any connected tubing and fittings.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods, and wipe the exterior optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue.
