Quartz 10mm Micro Volume Cuvette, 1.05 ml, Molded 83, Two-Way Light, PTFE Cap, Pack of Two, C102CE5
Description
The C102CE5 is a precision quartz micro volume cuvette with 10 mm path length and two-way light optical windows, designed for UV-Vis spectrophotometry (190–2500 nm). The two-way light configuration transmits the beam through two opposing polished optical faces, delivering clean baseline performance for absorbance measurements. This cuvette reduces the required sample volume to 1.05 ml (1050 µl) — saving 70% compared to a standard 3.5 ml cell — by using internal quartz masking walls that narrow the chamber to ~3 mm width while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path. Fabricated using Molded 83 (>83% transmittance). Includes a PTFE cap for chemical-resistant sealing. Compatible with all standard spectrophotometers regardless of beam height.

Applications
Why Micro Volume?
Internal quartz masking walls narrow the measurement chamber to ~3 mm while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This saves 70% of sample compared to a standard 3.5 ml cuvette, making it ideal for precious biological samples, expensive reagents, or limited column fractions. Unlike ultra-micro cuvettes with raised platforms, the micro volume design keeps the sample at full column height — compatible with all spectrophotometer beam heights (8.5 mm, 15 mm, or 20 mm) without verification.
Why Molded 83 Construction?
Molded 83 is the premium fabrication method: the cuvette is integrally fused as a single piece with no adhesive or joints. This eliminates solvent attack points and enables operation up to 1200 °C — far exceeding sintered (600 °C) or glue-assembled (200 °C) alternatives. The one-piece construction delivers a path length variation of just ±0.02 mm, ensuring the highest level of reproducibility. With transmittance >83%, Molded 83 is the gold standard for demanding research applications.
