Fill the cuvette so the liquid level covers the beam area used by your instrument, then place the lid as needed during normal bench handling. Keep the same orientation for blank and sample measurements, and check that no bubbles are sitting in the optical path.

Handle the cell by the outer non-optical surfaces where possible to help keep the clear faces clean. The stated 3.5 mL figure is a nominal capacity, not a minimum working volume, so low-fill methods should be checked against the beam position in your own setup.

First-use check

Before first use, inspect the optical faces for dust, fingerprints or transport residue. Test the empty cell body in your holder, then confirm after filling that the sample level fully covers the beam area used in your instrument.
