USD$293.00 USD$264.00
Quartz 10 mm four-way micro fluorescence cuvette, 1.75 ml, Sintered 83 (>83% transmittance). PTFE Stopper for gas-tight sealing. Four polished windows for 90° fluorescence geometry. 190–2500 nm. SKU: C104SR21.
Description
The C104SR21 is a quartz micro fluorescence cuvette with 10 mm path length and four-way light optical windows, optimized for fluorescence spectroscopy of limited-volume samples. Internal masking walls narrow the chamber to a 5 mm channel width, reducing the fill volume to just 1.75 ml while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path and four polished faces for standard 90° fluorescence geometry. The PTFE stopper provides a chemical-resistant, gas-tight seal that prevents solvent evaporation during extended kinetic fluorescence measurements and protects air-sensitive fluorophores from atmospheric quenching. Fabricated using Sintered 83 (>83% transmittance) — quartz panels fused at ~600 °C with no adhesive joints.

Fluorescence Applications
Why Four-Way Light for Fluorescence?
Fluorescence spectroscopy requires excitation light to enter through one face and emission to be collected at 90° through an adjacent face — the four-way configuration provides four polished optical windows that enable this standard geometry from any orientation. This also accommodates dual-emission or dual-excitation setups where detectors are positioned on opposite faces. All four windows are polished to spectroscopic grade, minimizing scatter-induced background that would otherwise raise detection limits.
Why PTFE Stopper?
The PTFE stopper provides a secure, chemical-resistant seal that prevents solvent evaporation and protects samples from atmospheric contamination. PTFE is inert to virtually all laboratory chemicals, making this stopper suitable for use with aqueous buffers, organic solvents, and air-sensitive fluorophores that degrade on contact with atmospheric oxygen. The stopper enables safe inversion for gentle mixing without leaks, and maintains stable fluorophore concentrations during extended kinetic measurements where even minor evaporation would shift emission intensity.
Why Sintered 83 Construction?
Sintered 83 cuvettes are assembled by fusing quartz panels at approximately 600 °C, creating strong, adhesive-free joints. With >83% transmittance across 190–2500 nm, Sintered 83 delivers excellent optical clarity. For fluorescence work, the absence of adhesive is critical — optical cements can auto-fluoresce under UV excitation, adding unwanted background signal. The fused joints are compatible with strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents (excluding HF and aggressive organics such as toluene and acetone).
