C014CS is a JGS1 quartz screw-top cuvette for short-path measurements in a covered format. It combines a 1 mm optical path with Four-Way Light access, so the cell remains optically accessible on all four sides while the sample is loaded through a threaded neck and closed with the included PTFE screw cap. The nominal capacity is 350 µL, making it suitable for small prepared liquid samples in a compact quartz body.

Choose this option

Choose C014CS when your method needs a 1 mm path in a screw-top cuvette rather than an open-top cell. The Four-Way Light layout is useful when your setup uses side access around the cell body, and the cap keeps the sample covered during bench handling or measurement. This option is especially relevant when you need the basic rectangular cuvette form but with a threaded opening and compact nominal volume.

Using this cell

Fill the cuvette through the threaded neck, then fit the screw cap before moving the cell to the holder or instrument if your procedure uses a covered sample. Keep the optical faces clean and check that the filled sample fully covers the beam area used in your setup.

For blank and sample runs, keep the same orientation. The 350 µL value is a nominal cell capacity, not a minimum working volume, so practical fill level should be checked against your own beam position.

First-use check

Inspect the four optical faces and threaded neck for dust, chips or handling marks.
Rinse with a cleaning liquid suitable for your method and the complete assembly.
Run a blank first in the same orientation planned for the sample.
Check that the cap seats cleanly and that the filled sample covers the intended beam area.

Fit and optical alignment

The body section is 12.5 × 3.5 mm and 38 mm high. Overall height is 54 mm without the cap and 58 mm with the cap fitted, which helps when checking holder slot size and top clearance around the neck.

Z Height is not established for this SKU, so do not assume beam-center compatibility from the outside size alone. If your holder depends on a defined beam height, confirm that point before ordering.

Solvents and cleaning

This cuvette uses Molded 83 fabrication in JGS1 quartz. This fabrication is commonly selected for quartz cells used with organic-solvent methods and other laboratory liquid samples, but the exact suitability still depends on the specific chemical, concentration, temperature, contact time and the full wetted assembly, including the closure.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid with quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning materials. Clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue or another non-scratching laboratory wipe.
