Using this cell

Fill the chamber from the top, then place the lid for routine handling and measurement setup. Keep the optical faces clean, and use a consistent orientation between blank and sample measurements so the same faces are presented to the optical system each time.

This is a static sample cell with a separate lid, not a sealed flow cell or pressure assembly. The nominal 46 mL value describes chamber capacity, not a minimum working volume, so partial-fill work should be checked against your own beam-height and sample-coverage needs.
