Description

C052WS is a quartz flow cell for UV/Vis measurements with a 5 mm optical path and 300 µL nominal capacity in a compact body. Its Two-Way Light layout and two top M6 fluid connections give you a defined in-line cell format that is easy to place in a holder while keeping tubing above the optical body. This makes it a practical choice when you need a longer path than the 2 mm version but want the same upright connection style.

Using this cell

Connect tubing to the two top ports and fill the cell slowly so the illuminated region wets evenly before measurement. Before collecting data, inspect the sample region and window faces for bubbles, droplets or residue, then establish your blank after the flow path is fully filled.

The stated 300 µL value is the nominal capacity of the cell itself. It does not include tubing, fittings or other upstream and downstream parts, so total priming and rinse volume should be worked out from the full connected system.

No pressure limit is stated here. If the cell will be used in a pressurized circuit, review the complete connection arrangement and operating conditions before use.

First-use check

Inspect the quartz body and optical faces for chips, scratches, residue or contamination.
Check that your holder can seat the body and leave clearance for top-mounted tubing.
Fill gradually and confirm that the illuminated sample region is free of trapped bubbles before measurement.

Solvents and cleaning

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods. Clean the optical faces gently with non-abrasive optical tissue or another suitable non-scratching method, and check the compatibility of the rest of the wetted flow path as a complete assembly.
