Quartz Cuvette with a Stopcock: Leaving Space to Operate the Valve
Custom Design Guides · MQQSC067
MQQSC067 is the nominal 2 mm path quartz-cell reference with a stopcock and projecting side stem. The valve assembly creates a much larger operating envelope than the measuring body alone.
The useful fit review includes the valve in motion and the connected components. A vacuum-related product description does not establish a tested leakage value, pressure rating or operating procedure.

The configuration discussed here
What changes from the simpler form?
A stopcock adds an accessible moving assembly above a short-path body. The optical seating can remain a separate design reference while the valve, side stem and external supports determine the larger envelope.
Locate the optical body independently of the valve
Show the holder datum, window region and support faces on the measuring section. The long upper assembly should not determine the sample's optical position by assumption.
Include the apparatus cover and the full insertion route. Clearing the valve at rest is not sufficient if the cell cannot be loaded into its holder.
Draw the valve's movement envelope
Identify the hand-access space and the range through which the valve component needs to move. Show nearby lines or fixtures that remain in place during that action.
The reference does not provide an operating torque or validated actuation procedure. State the access and acceptance requirement for review without using the illustration as an instruction to apply force.
Support external connections separately
Include mating components, their positions and the intended support. A projecting quartz stem should not be assigned an unspecified mechanical load.
For example, a different side-stem direction could be considered where an existing enclosure restricts access. That proposal needs the optical seating and complete valve envelope on the same drawing.
Make containment acceptance explicit
Give the actual contents, temperature and containment requirement, with the proposed method for verifying it. The presence of a stopcock is not proof that the complete cell meets a particular vacuum or leak specification.
MQ can review the body, valve and connections as an assembly. Agree the supplied parts, contact materials and any requested dimensional or containment records before ordering.

Does the stopcock make this a qualified high-vacuum cell?
No particular vacuum or leakage result is established here. The complete assembly and acceptance conditions need to be specified and verified for that requirement.
Send a drawing or the mating-part details
Send the valve assembly in its installed position with the access space marked. MQ can then review the long assembly around the measuring body.
- Optical-body datum and clear-window region
- Complete valve and side-stem envelope
- Actuation access and nearby components
- Contents, conditions and containment acceptance
- External supports and supplied components
Modified designs are reviewed for the project. The drawing, supplied parts, quantity, inspection scope, price and preparation or production time are agreed in the quotation.
Details to settle for the ordered configuration
Valve construction, operating limits, leakage performance and exact instrument fit require agreement; this guide is not a vacuum-operation procedure.
