Stoppered Quartz Comparison Tube: Separating Sample Preparation from Measurement
Custom Design Guides · MQQTT006
MQQTT006 is the ungraduated 8 mL quartz comparison-tube option. The reference marks a 110 mm tube length and 15 mm outside diameter, with a separate stopper assembly.
This elongated form gives the operator a different loading and retrieval task from a rectangular cuvette. The nominal capacity, tube envelope and optical use need to be described separately.

The configuration discussed here
What changes from the simpler form?
A stopper adds a closure interface to an ungraduated tube without turning its capacity into a calibrated reading. Loading reach and stopper access remain separate from any proposed comparison method.
Give the tube a specific role in the method
Identify whether the tube is used for sample preparation, transfer or a defined comparison procedure. Its clear wall and cylindrical form do not establish a fixed 10 mm measurement path or compatibility with a particular instrument.
If observation is required, show the viewing region and support position. Keep the round-bottom or lower-body geometry visible in the fit review rather than describing only the maximum diameter.
Use the capacity as a container designation
The selected option is nominally 8 mL and has no graduations. That does not make it a device for setting an accurate liquid volume. Give the actual working fill and transfer requirements for the method.
Allow for the stopper and the handling sequence when specifying the amount to be contained. Any volumetric or repeatability acceptance needs a separately agreed procedure.
Review stopper access with the rack
The reference stopper includes distinct coloured features, but their materials and sealing roles should not be guessed from appearance. Confirm the stopper assembly, contact surfaces and supplied parts.
Show the rack opening, exposed neck length and space for removal. A tube that fits a hole in the rack may still be difficult to unstopper while supported.
A different length changes access as well as storage
For example, a shorter tube might be proposed to fit a preparation station. Give the required sample amount, tool reach, stopper clearance and rack engagement together so the change is reviewed as a usable container.
MQ can discuss the tube and stopper specification with the dimensional and delivered-condition checks. A closure performance or pressure limit requires its own evidence and acceptance scope.

Can the 8 mL tube be used as an accurate measuring vessel?
The reference is ungraduated and its capacity is nominal. An accurate volume-setting requirement needs an appropriate agreed method and acceptance evidence.
Send a drawing or the mating-part details
Send the tube's position in the rack with the loading and stopper sequence. MQ can then review the length and closure around the actual preparation task.
- Preparation or comparison method and working fill
- Tube length, outside section and rack engagement
- Loading or transfer-tool reach
- Stopper assembly and removal clearance
- Dimensional, cleanliness and closure acceptance
Modified designs are reviewed for the project. The drawing, supplied parts, quantity, inspection scope, price and preparation or production time are agreed in the quotation.
Details to settle for the ordered configuration
Stopper materials, calibrated volume, fixed optical path and closure performance are not established by this reference.
