50 mm Quartz Flow Cell: A Long Path with a Small Sample Space (MQQFC092)
Custom design guide · MQQFC092
MQQFC092 combines a nominal 50 mm optical path with a stated 40 µL capacity in a slender tubular layout. Its small bore and two side arms make beam alignment, tube support and hose clearance central to selecting the cell.
The situations and proposed changes below are planning examples, not completed customer projects.

Consider path length and sample space separately
For a homogeneous solution within Beer–Lambert conditions, a longer path increases absorbance at the same concentration and wavelength. A low-absorbance measurement may therefore lead to a long-path enquiry, even when the sample supply is small.
MQQFC092 puts that long-path requirement into a slender tube rather than a broad rectangular chamber. The trade-off is a more demanding alignment and support arrangement around the small bore. Its 40 µL nominal capacity does not include the complete circuit's filling and flushing demand, and detection limits remain specific to the method and instrument.

Support the main tube and free the side arms from hose loads
The source gives a 3 mm OD / 1 mm ID for the main tube and for both side arms. Draw separate supports and hose restraints so that connecting or moving tubing does not use a narrow arm as a handle.
For a proposed installation, locate the end optics and main-tube supports first, then route the side-arm hoses without loading the arms. This separates an optical-alignment problem from a hose-routing problem. The 1 mm bore is a source dimension; the useful opening and instrument fit still need to be established for the setup.

Label axial length and projections separately
The source marks 52 mm along the main tube and 20 mm for a side-arm span. These are separate from the 50 mm optical path. Fittings and tubing bends add further installation space, so use labelled projections and coordinates when setting an enclosure limit.
Keep the long path and redirect a side arm
If the optical route is suitable but a side arm meets a wall or another fitting, show the desired arm direction and its permitted reach from a defined datum.
Mark whether the main tube and end optics must stay in their current positions. If they do, show the permitted side-arm direction, fitting outline and removal route around those fixed points. This gives us a focused connection-layout request while keeping the target optical path explicit.

Checks to agree before ordering
- Optical alignment: Check the beam, end optics and holder against the intended sample path.
- Support: Check arm loading, hose restraint and removal clearance.
- Circuit: Agree filling, flushing, fluid, flow and pressure conditions before requesting test records.
Sample and cleaning conditions
Check sample and cleaning liquids against the complete cell, including its bonded seams and any wetted cap or connection. Supply chemical identity, concentration, temperature and contact time. Avoid hydrofluoric acid; strong alkalis, heat and prolonged soaking need specific review. Adhesive-bonded quartz does not provide blanket approval or rejection of organic solvents.
