Description

MQQFL080 is a shallow quartz fluorescence cuvette for setups that use a 20 mm optical path in a compact body. Its open-top design gives direct access for filling and inspection, while the low 24 × 24 × 8 mm body and locating features on the base are useful when the cell needs to seat into a matching fixture rather than a standard tall holder.

Choose this option

Choose MQQFL080 when your method is built around a low-profile fluorescence cell with optical access on four sides and direct filling from above. The 2 mL nominal capacity suits this 20 mm format, and the locating-block pattern helps repeat placement when your holder is designed for the same base geometry.

What makes this option different

  • 20 mm optical path: suited to methods that need this longer path in a shallow fluorescence cell.
  • Four-Way Light layout: optical access is provided on four sides of the cell body.
  • Low-profile 24 × 24 × 8 mm body: useful where fixture height is limited or a shallow pocket mount is used.
  • Base locating features: the cell uses a defined locating pattern instead of a plain flat base alone.

Using this cell

Fill the cell from the open top and keep the same orientation for blank and sample measurements. Before reading, check that the liquid covers the optical region used by your setup and that no bubbles or droplets remain on the viewing faces.

The 2 mL figure is a nominal capacity for this option. It should not be treated as a minimum working fill, so routine fill level should be set by your beam geometry and fixture position.

First-use check

  1. Inspect the optical faces, top opening and locating features for chips, residue or handling marks.
  2. Place the cell in the holder without force and confirm that it seats fully in the intended orientation.
  3. Run a blank first, then recheck fill level, bubbles and exterior cleanliness before measuring samples.

Fit and optical alignment

The stated 24 × 24 × 8 mm dimensions describe the body. This SKU also uses three locating projections on the base, with marked feature sizes of 4 × 1.5 × 1 mm and 3 × 1.5 × 1 mm, so holder fit should be checked against the full locating pattern rather than the square body alone.

The 8 mm dimension is body height, not Z Height. If your fluorimeter or mount depends on a specific beam-centre height, please check that separately before ordering.

Solvents and cleaning

Molded 83 is commonly chosen for quartz cuvettes used with organic-solvent methods and applications that may involve heat. For this open-top cell, keep both the optical faces and the base locating features clean so the cell can be reseated consistently after rinsing or refilling.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid with quartz. Avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning methods. Use suitable non-abrasive optical tissue or lab wipes on the exterior faces, and remove any residue from the locating features before putting the cell back into the fixture.

Included with this option

For a required delivery date, contact us before checkout; preparation or production is separate from carrier transit and customs clearance.

Discuss a custom version

If you need a related shallow fluorescence cell, send the holder or pocket drawing, the required locating-feature layout, the optical directions and any critical beam-position requirements. We can review custom JGS1 quartz versions with changes to dimensions, optical path length, sample volume, optical windows, Z Height, closures, fabrication and tolerances.

Discuss a custom version or send a product-selection enquiry with SKU MQQFL080, quantity and delivery destination.
