M6 PTFE Flow-Cell Connector: Specifying the Thread, Seat and Tube
Custom Design Guides · MQACC044
A replacement connector can look right and still leave the seating or tube interface unresolved. MQACC044 is the M6 PTFE fluid-connector reference for examining those details individually.
M6 identifies a nominal thread designation. It does not describe the complete seal, the tube bore or the engagement available in a particular cell.

The configuration discussed here
What changes from the simpler form?
A detachable connector separates a replaceable line interface from the cell body. The change is useful to discuss for maintenance or line adaptation, provided the seat and seal are specified alongside the thread.
Show the thread and what lies behind it
An interface drawing should identify the mating thread, available engagement and the surface at which the fitting seats. Include any recess or shoulder that limits movement. A matching thread name alone is not a complete fit check.
If an existing fitting is being replaced, show both the removed component and the cell connection. Mark which parts are to be retained so the replacement is reviewed against the actual assembly.
Identify the seal rather than assuming one
State the proposed sealing arrangement and the parts supplied with the connector. The PTFE material designation does not establish a particular gasket, ferrule or seating geometry.
Give the sample chemistry and operating conditions for compatibility review. Leak acceptance, if required, needs an agreed medium, conditions and method; it cannot be inferred from a threaded appearance.
The tube has its own interface
Specify tube outside diameter, inside diameter, material and the required connection method. Include the line's approach and removal space. State the required length and bore as separate supplied-part details.
For example, changing a line size while retaining a cell may call for a different connector arrangement rather than a new cell body. That proposal still needs the existing cell's seat and thread details.
Define the supplied set and the service space
List the connector body, tube and any separate sealing parts as individual items. This makes it clear whether the request is for a spare fitting or a complete connection set.
Show how the part will be accessed during replacement and where the cell is supported. MQ can review the mating features and requested checks without prescribing an unverified tightening torque or pressure rating.

Will any M6 fitting seal in this cell?
The nominal thread is only one part of the interface. Seating geometry, engagement, sealing components and the tube connection must also match the cell and the intended conditions.
Send a drawing or the mating-part details
Send a section through the existing connection, with the tube details. MQ can use it to review an M6 connector as a complete interface rather than a thread name.
- Cell-side thread and seating drawing
- Required thread engagement and clearances
- Tube dimensions, material and connection method
- Sealing parts and operating conditions
- Supplied components and required fit or leak checks
Modified designs are reviewed for the project. The drawing, supplied parts, quantity, inspection scope, price and preparation or production time are agreed in the quotation.
Details to settle for the ordered configuration
Thread pitch, seat, seal, tube specification, operating limits and leakage performance require confirmation for the ordered set.
