Quartz 1/15mm Fluorescence Cuvette, 2ml, Standard 80, six-way light, Stopper, 1pc/ea, C016SS
Description
The C016SS is a quartz fluorescence cuvette with 1/15mm path length and six-way light optical configuration — all six faces are polished to optical grade, providing maximum optical access from every direction. With a 2ml internal volume (50 × 1 × 36 mm chamber), the cell is compatible with most commercial spectrophotometers. Fabricated using Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — precision-glued quartz construction, an industry-proven assembly method. The PTFE stopper provides an airtight friction-fit seal that prevents evaporation and protects air-sensitive analytes. Features a distinctive flat, wide-aperture design (1/50mm configuration) with a PTFE stopper plug, creating a unique six-way light access geometry. The ultra-thin profile with wide lateral dimensions enables multi-angle fluorescence excitation.

Spectroscopy Applications
Why Six-Way Light?
Six-way light cuvettes have all six faces (four vertical sides plus top and bottom) polished to optical grade, providing maximum optical access from every direction. This configuration is used in advanced spectroscopy setups requiring excitation and detection from multiple angles simultaneously.
Why a PTFE Stopper?
The PTFE stopper provides an airtight friction-fit seal that prevents evaporation of volatile samples and protects air-sensitive analytes from atmospheric exposure. PTFE is chemically inert to virtually all laboratory solvents and reagents, making it the preferred closure material for demanding analytical work. The stopper can be easily inserted and removed for sample loading while maintaining a reliable seal during measurements.
Why Standard 80?
Standard 80 uses precision-glued quartz construction — an industry-proven assembly method delivering >80% UV transmittance from 200–2500 nm. The optical adhesive bond is optimized for aqueous (water-based) solutions, making this fabrication ideal for routine spectrophotometry, QC testing, and educational labs where the sample matrix is known and gentle. Standard 80 offers a cost-effective entry point with reliable, repeatable results under normal operating conditions.
- Rinse with a compatible solvent (e.g., ethanol or the measurement solvent) before first use to remove any residual particles.
- Do not use abrasive materials or brushes on the polished optical faces — wipe gently with lens tissue.
- Suitable for aqueous (water-based) solutions only. Do not use with organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases.
- Store in the original protective case to prevent scratches on the optical windows.
- For baseline correction, fill with your reference solvent, cap the cuvette, and run a blank before sample measurements.
