Description

The C104CE19 is a precision quartz micro fluorescence cuvette with 10 mm path length and four optically polished faces, designed for quantitative fluorescence and absorbance spectroscopy (190–2500 nm) at a significantly reduced sample volume. The 3 mm interior width brings the working volume down to 1.05 ml — just 30% of a standard 3.5 ml cell — an especially useful capacity when expensive fluorescent labels, limited biological extracts, or rare synthetic intermediates must be measured at the standard 10 mm optical path. All four faces support 90° excitation/emission geometry for fluorescence spectroscopy. Molded 83 fabrication (1200 °C fusion, ±0.02 mm tolerance) produces the tightest cell-to-cell dimensional match in the product range — an advantage when running paired sample/reference measurements where any geometric mismatch appears as systematic error. Transmittance exceeds 83% across the full UV-Vis-NIR range. Sealed with a PTFE cap.

Precision That Matters in Fluorescence

Fluorescence intensity is proportional to the volume of sample illuminated by the excitation beam. Any variation in the internal geometry between sample and reference cuvettes translates directly into measurement error. The Molded 83 process (1200 °C fusion, ±0.02 mm tolerance) delivers the tightest dimensional reproducibility available, minimizing cell-to-cell variability that can mask subtle fluorescence changes in binding assays, FRET experiments, or quenching titrations. The adhesive-free bond is compatible with aqueous buffers, organic solvents, and dilute acids/bases.

Why Micro Volume?

Internal quartz masking walls narrow the measurement chamber to 3 mm while maintaining the full 10 mm optical path (Beer–Lambert law: A = εlc). This saves 70% of sample compared to a standard 3.5 ml cuvette, making it ideal for precious biological samples, costly fluorescent labels, or limited synthetic fractions. The micro volume design keeps the sample at full column height — compatible with all spectrophotometer beam heights (8.5 mm, 15 mm, or 20 mm) without verification.

Usage Tips: Handle by the top rim only — all four optical faces must remain free of fingerprints. Fill to at least 15 mm above the beam center height. Clean with spectroscopic-grade solvent and lint-free tissue after each use. Molded 83 construction is compatible with most laboratory solvents including water, ethanol, DMSO, and dilute acids/bases. Avoid HF (hydrofluoric acid). Compatible with Shimadzu, Agilent, PerkinElmer, Thermo Fisher, JASCO, Horiba, Edinburgh Instruments, and most commercial fluorimeters and UV-Vis spectrophotometers.
