Using this cell

Load the sample from the top with a fine pipette tip and check that the liquid fully covers the illuminated region before measurement. In this format, bubbles, incomplete filling and residue on the optical faces can affect the result quickly, so careful loading and rinsing matter.

This cell is intended for UV/Vis spectroscopy and uses a straight two-window transmission path. The nominal capacity describes the chamber size, not the minimum volume required by every instrument or beam geometry.

First-use check

Inspect the optical faces for dust, fingerprints or handling marks.
Rinse with a suitable water-based liquid used in your method.
Fill with a blank and confirm that the measurement region is fully wetted and free from bubbles.
Test holder fit and beam alignment before routine use if your setup has tight clearance or a fixed beam height.

Fit and optical alignment

The listed 3.5 × 12.5 × 35 mm dimensions apply to the cell body only. Check holder clearance, clamping method and side pressure before ordering if your accessory grips the body closely.

Solvents and cleaning

Standard 80 is an adhesive-bonded quartz construction. For this type, routine room-temperature water-based samples and buffers are the practical selection direction. Avoid organic sample solvents and organic cleaning agents with this construction.

Do not use hydrofluoric acid on quartz, and avoid hot strong alkalis and abrasive cleaning. Clean gently with non-abrasive optical tissue, and soak residue with a compatible cleaning liquid rather than scrubbing the window surfaces.
