C504CS3 is a large JGS1 quartz cuvette for methods that need a 50 mm optical path together with optical access on all four sides. Its open-top square body gives direct access to the sample chamber, and this option is supplied with a lid for applications that need the sample covered during use. Using this cell

Fill the cell from the top and make sure the liquid level covers the beam region used by your instrument. Remove bubbles from any face used in the optical path, and keep a consistent orientation if your method compares blank and sample readings.

The lid can cover the sample during use, but this remains an open-top cell format. No pressure rating or sealed-operation claim is established here, so it should be selected for covered static use rather than for pressure or leak-tight duties.

First-use check

Before first use, inspect the optical faces, top opening and lid for residue or handling marks. Test the empty cell in the holder first, then run a suitable blank to confirm that the beam passes through the intended faces with the sample level above the active measurement region.

Fit and optical alignment

The cuvette body dimensions are 54 × 54 × 55 mm, and that height refers to the body only. Check holder seating and side clearance for the square body, and check top clearance separately if your setup also needs space above the cell for the lid.
