Description

The C022WS5 is a quartz flow cuvette with 2 mm path length and two-way light windows (two polished optical faces for standard UV-Vis absorbance geometry), holding 600 ul of sample. The cell measures 4.5 × 12.5 × 45 mm externally. Inlet and outlet ports enable continuous sample flow for real-time monitoring applications. Fabricated using Standard 80 technique with precision-glued quartz construction, delivering >80% transmittance across the 190-2500 nm range. The quartz body is suitable for aqueous (water-based) solutions only. Do not use with organic solvents, strong acids, or strong bases.

Why Two-Way Light Windows?

The two-way configuration provides two optically polished opposing faces for standard transmission-mode spectroscopy (UV-Vis, NIR). The remaining two walls are frosted (ground) to suppress internal reflections and stray light, improving baseline stability and measurement reproducibility. This is the most common geometry for absorbance-based flow analysis — compatible with virtually every single-beam and double-beam spectrophotometer on the market.

Why a Flow Cell?

Flow cells enable continuous, real-time spectroscopic monitoring without manual sample handling. By connecting a flow cell to a pump or gravity-feed system, you can monitor concentration changes, reaction kinetics, or process streams in real time without removing the cell from the instrument. This eliminates human error, reduces sample exposure to air, and enables automated data collection over extended periods.

Why Standard 80 Fabrication?

The Standard 80 fabrication creates a monolithic fused-quartz cell from a single block — no adhesive joints, no bonding layers. This delivers >80% transmittance and complete resistance to all common laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, and bases (avoid HF). The seamless construction eliminates leakage risks and withstands repeated thermal cycling, making Standard 80 the premium choice for demanding flow applications.

Usage Tips: Orient the cell with the polished optical faces toward the light source and detector. Fill to at least 5 mm above the beam height to avoid meniscus effects. The 2 mm path length follows Beer-Lambert law (A = εlc) — for concentrated samples, consider a shorter path. Clean with spectroscopic-grade solvent and rinse with deionized water. Avoid scratching the optical faces; handle by the frosted walls or edges. Compatible with standard spectrophotometer cuvette holders (12.5 mm external width models).
Custom Orders & Academic Purchasing: Need a custom path length, tube diameter, volume, or window configuration? We manufacture made-to-order flow cells tailored to your exact specifications. Academic institutions: we accept Purchase Orders (POs) with pay-after-delivery terms. Request a custom quote.
Disclaimer: Specifications are nominal values measured under standard laboratory conditions. Actual transmittance may vary slightly with wavelength and sample composition. Images are representative; minor cosmetic variations between production batches are normal and do not affect optical performance. For critical applications, request a Certificate of Analysis at time of order.
