Infrared (IR) Quartz Cuvettes — JGS3 Fused Silica for NIR & Mid-IR Spectroscopy
Purpose-built for near-infrared and mid-infrared measurements, our IR cuvettes are manufactured from JGS3 IR-grade fused silica with an extended transmittance window of 260–3500 nm — well beyond the 2500 nm cutoff of standard JGS1 quartz. This makes them the right choice for FTIR absorption, NIR diffuse-reflectance, overtone/combination-band analysis, and any workflow where mid-IR transparency is essential.
Product Range
The collection covers path lengths from 0.5 mm to 40 mm with internal volumes ranging from 170 μl to 14 ml. Two-way light (standard absorbance) and four-way light (fluorescence-compatible) configurations are available. Most models include a friction-fit PTFE cap; select 10 mm four-way models are offered with a glass stopper for volatile samples. Single-unit and pack-of-two options are listed for every path length.
Fabrication Options
Choose the fabrication grade that matches your chemical environment. Standard 80 (>80% transmittance) — precision-glued panels for routine aqueous work. Sintered 80/83 (>80/83% transmittance) — adhesive-free sintered joints resistant to strong acids, bases, and most organic solvents. Molded 83 (>83% transmittance) — monolithic fused quartz with no joints at all, offering maximum chemical inertness.
Instrument Compatibility
All cuvettes fit the standard 12.5 mm sample compartment and are compatible with FTIR and NIR instruments from Thermo Fisher, Bruker, PerkinElmer, Shimadzu, JASCO, Agilent, and other major manufacturers.
